Read information on Dinosaurs.
Read first two chapters of Flat Stanley.
Please note that reading can also be done on the weekend.
Read the next 35 High Frequency words.
Study new spelling words letters Mm and Nn.

Mathematics.
Review the Math outline for Math Test.

Complete one math sheet per night.
Complete math word problem.

Math Outline for test in grade two.

Group 21 will have the test on December 13th.
Group 22 will have the test on December 8th.
All concepts have been reviewed in class and this is just an outline for extra practice.


The test will be on Place Value: understanding tens and ones and Understanding numbers 1-100.
The students will have to write numbers in expanded forms.

Example

53
5 tens
    
    

    
    
    
  3 ones
    



Is the same as 50+3= 53

Or

53 is the same as 5 tens and 3 ones.


It will also cover writing numbers in increasing and decreasing order until 100.

Example
Put these numbers in increasing order   35, 65, 15, 78

Put these numbers in decreasing order 73, 12, 76, 98

Recognizing even number and an odd numbers.

They will also have some math problems to complete.
They will have to find key words in word problems such as difference, more than, all together etc…

Examples of Math riddles:

I am more than 11.
I am an even number.
I am less than 18.
I have a 6 in the ones column.

What number am I? ____


I am more than twenty.
I am less than twenty five?
I am an odd number.

What two numbers can I be?______   ________.


And the test will cover some Math Vocabulary.

One each night-don't forget to time yourself.

SUMMER VACATION!!!!!




Dear Parents,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continuous support and encouragement. Your children are very important to me and we had a fantastic year together. In a blink of an eye we will be sitting together at their grade six graduation!
